In the past, Song Hye Kyo appeared on the YouTube channel “Fairy Jaehyung”, where she showed her candid and witty side during the conversation. Host Jung Jae Hyung expressed surprise, saying there was very little interview material about her. Song Hye Kyo replied, “You probably won’t find many interviews outside of when I’m promoting a project.”
When asked why she decided to appear on YouTube, Song Hye Kyo explained that her mindset had changed over time. “These days, I feel like I should try things like this,” she said. “As I get older, I feel grateful when people still show interest in me.” Her honest response surprised many.
She also shared that she has become more relaxed recently. “In life, I’ve had difficult experiences as a woman and as an actress, but I’ve also had happy moments,” she said. “I think I’ve learned a lot about life through those experiences.”

Looking back on the sitcom Soonpoong Clinic, she revealed that she passed the audition after trying three or four times. “The director disliked long pauses, even more than mistakes in lines,” she said. “I was in high school then, so I could memorize the entire script after reading it once. Now, I forget things as soon as I turn around,” she joked, drawing laughter.
Song Hye Kyo also spoke about her breakthrough drama Autumn in My Heart. She recalled that many people initially opposed her casting because she came from a sitcom background.
“People in serious dramas didn’t really welcome someone who had just done a sitcom,” she said. “When I first started Autumn in My Heart, many people opposed it. I was only 20 years old, and hearing negative comments made me think, ‘I’ll show them. I’ll make it work somehow.’”
She then shared a story from the drama’s intense filming schedule. “We often filmed outside Seoul, and director Yoon Seok Ho barely slept,” she said. “There was a time when we filmed for three straight days without even having time to wash.”

Song Hye Kyo recalled a scene involving herself, Won Bin, and Song Seung Heon. “The director suddenly told us, ‘You three should go wash.’ We wondered why, but since we hadn’t washed for three days and still had the same makeup on, we apparently looked really messy on the monitor,” she said, making everyone laugh.
She also shared a funny yet surprising story from visiting a neighborhood bathhouse. “I went to a local bathhouse and was sitting in the warm water,” she said. “Then an elderly woman suddenly hit my back and said, ‘Eun-suh (Song Hye Kyo’s character in Autumn in My Heart) must not die!’”
Song Hye Kyo explained that because she was completely undressed at the time, the situation became even more embarrassing. “People who didn’t recognize me before suddenly realized who I was,” she said. “So I hurriedly washed up and rushed out.”
