Song Hye Kyo and Gong Yoo’s Upcoming Drama Project is Generating Excitement Among Korean Drama Fans

In April, South Korean media confirmed that Song Hye Kyo and Gong Yoo are in talks to star together in a major television drama. Management SOOP, the agency of the actor from Goblin, confirmed the news and stated they are considering the script. According to the latest information, this project is likely to be Show Business by the renowned writer Noh Hee Kyung. He has previously collaborated with Song Hye Kyo on several popular works like Worlds Within (2008) and That Winter, the Wind Blows (2013). This script is expected to be inspired by those working in the broadcasting industry in South Korea.

The news of Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo’s potential collaboration has excited many fans. Currently, Song Hye Kyo is working on another film project called Dark Nuns with Jeon Yeo Bin, while Gong Yoo is expected to return in the upcoming second season of the hit series Squid Game.

Previously, the two stars were offered leading roles in the blockbuster Descendants of the Sun. In 2015, Gong Yoo was invited to take on the role of Captain Yoo Shi Jin, originally played by Song Joong Ki, but he declined. As a result, the series became a phenomenon in Korean television. Notably, Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki later became a beloved couple until their divorce in 2019.

Besides Song Hye Kyo and Gong Yoo, other stars like Honey Lee and Kim Seol Hyun are also expected to participate in the project. The script for Show Business is completed and is set to run for 24 episodes. Online streaming platforms like Netflix and Disney+ are reportedly interested in acquiring the rights to the series.
