On July 22, Son Na Eun appeared on the YouTube channel YouTube Hajiyoung in a video titled “Son Na Eun talks about meeting So Ji Sub, being approached overseas, and the real person behind ‘Agent Kim Reactivated.'”

Discussing her first meeting with co-star So Ji Sub, who stars alongside her in SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama Agent Kim Reactivated, she recalled being starstruck during the script reading. “I’d watched so many of his projects growing up, and everyone calls him ‘So Ganzi.’ Just seeing him sitting there made me think, ‘Wow.'”

She also revealed that both she and several senior cast members including So Ji Sub, Yoon Kyung Ho, Choi Dae Hoon, and Joo Sang Wook are introverts. “I usually try to start conversations because I’m worried the other person might feel uncomfortable, but since they were my seniors, I kept wondering what to say. Before I knew it, filming was over.”

Son Na Eun reflected on how much her personality has changed since her idol days. She admitted that she used to place many limitations on herself, often thinking, “I’m not supposed to do things like that.” Looking back, she regrets not enjoying more experiences when she was younger.

The actress also made a surprising confession: “I couldn’t even go to the bank or walk outside by myself. I was like that until my mid-to-late twenties.”

Host Ha Ji Young suggested that because Son Na Eun debuted at such a young age, she was always surrounded by people who handled everyday responsibilities for her. Agreeing, Son Na Eun said she now feels like she’s finally living as herself, although that newfound freedom also comes with greater responsibility.

The actress also spoke honestly about the challenges of shedding the “idol-turned-actress” label. “I always think people are evaluating me. Because I started as a singer, that feeling has always been there.” While she said the pressure has eased over time, she acknowledged that it hasn’t completely disappeared.

Rather than dwelling on it, Son Na Eun said she focuses on improving herself. “That’s why I work even harder and try to keep growing. On set, I make an effort to approach people first and smile. Now I think, ‘I can do this.'”

Son Na Eun debuted with Apink in 2011 and became one of the group’s most recognizable members. She officially left the group in 2022 to concentrate on her acting career and has since continued building her filmography through television dramas and other acting projects.
