So Ji-sub loves the nickname So Ganzi → The first purpose of acting is “to make money” (You Quiz on the Block)
In “You Quiz on the Block”, So Ji-sub discussed a fashion issue that occurred because of his nickname So Ganzi, causing laughter.
In the October 12th episode of the tvN entertainment program “You Quiz on the Block”, actor So Ji-sub, who is known for his versatility in character portrayal, appeared for the special episode “Thousand Faces”.
On this day, Yoo Jae-suk asked, “Actually, So Ji-sub is the only person in Korea who is allowed to use the word Ganzi. Do you like the nickname ”’So Ganzi’?“. (So Ganzi is a popular nickname of So Ji-sub, which means “fashionable” and refers to the actor’s unique fashion sense)
Hearing this, So Ji-sub showed affection by saying, “It was burdensome at first, but now I am so grateful and I love it.”
Yoo Jae Suk then asked, “Did you ever worry about going out for a little bit because of your nickname?”, to which So Ji-sub laughed before answering, “It was like that in the beginning. So many strange styles came out.”
Yoo Jae-suk then smiled and asked, “Are there any strange fashions?”, and So Ji-sub replied, shyly “There are a lot of them. In fact, there are too many.”
Then, So Ji-sub saw Jo Se-ho preparing a photo and lowered his head in embarrassment, saying, “Oh, you have a photo?”
As it turns out, Jo Se-ho prepared a photo that shows the so-called “Wizard Fashion” of So Ji-sub, causing everyone to burst into laughter. “In the beginning, I had a lot of troubles. (The job of an actor) wasn’t suitable for me, and I had an introverted personality,” he also shared in an interview with the production team, adding, “But my first purpose was to make money as the head of the household. As a result, I put pressure on myself and pulled myself through it all. It remains that way even now.”
