Onew appeared on the August 16th broadcast of KBS2’s “The Seasons – Zico’s Artist” as the first artist and sang the OST song SHINee sang for “Boys Over Flowers”.
Regarding his feelings about making a comeback, Onew said, “I actually felt burdened to meet the audience in person and sing. But I’ve changed my mind and now I want to meet more people, let them hear my voice, and spread positive influence. I may not be perfect but I’ll do my best”, ađing “It’s healing to meet new people outside of my boundaries.” Hearing that, Zico commented, “It’s my honor to be with you in this happy moment”.
Onew recently left SM Entertainment, the place that had accompanied him for 17 years since his debut, and joined a new company to start focusing on his solo career. He shared, “I’ve started anew”, adding “Since I was in a good company for such a long time, I became complacent. Therefore, I wanted to challenge myself and try to do more”.
Onew added, “It’s been about three and four months since I left SM”, adding “I manage my solo activities by myself, and do SHINee activities with the members at SM. It feels like leaving my parents’ house.” Regarding the differences after leaving SM, he said, “I’m trying new things I had never done before. I find it fun to work on songs”.
Zico mentioned Onew’s hiatus last year due to health issues. Onew confessed, “Many people were worried about me, and because of their concerns and support, I was able to recover well and return to work. I’m so grateful for that. I used to think I should be the person who gives others good energy, but now, my mind has changed. I think I should share the energy I received from others. Thank you so much. Even if you’re feeling unwell, you’ll get better as time passes. Have only good thoughts, eat nice food, and let’s live happily together”.
