SHINee’s leader Onew officially responded to rumors tying him to A, the controversial figure known as comedian Park Na Rae’s “injection aunt,” who is currently under investigation for administering illegal cosmetic procedures without a medical license.
In a press release, Onew’s agency Griffin Entertainment stated that the idol first visited the clinic in Sinsa-dong in April 2022, following a friend’s recommendation. At the time, A was working at the clinic, and there were no visible red flags regarding medical licensing.
“Onew’s visit was solely for skin care purposes, and the signed CD he gave was simply a gesture of gratitude for the service,” the agency clarified.
The statement also emphasized that the artist had no knowledge of any alleged illegal activities and expressed deep regret over the spread of misinformation:
“We are deeply concerned about the groundless speculation being amplified online. We hope no further unfounded assumptions will arise and will continue to protect our artist’s reputation and rights.”
The controversy stems from A’s past Instagram post, where she proudly displayed a signed copy of Onew’s first full-length solo album “Circle” , thanking him and expressing her pride in his growth as an artist.
In the handwritten message, Onew wrote: “Thank you for teaching me how to speak up and for being my bamboo forest. It’s a little embarrassing, but I’ll hold it in.”
A responded warmly, praising his hard work and encouraging him not to push himself too hard.
However, the situation escalated as A is now accused of performing injection procedures on Park Na Rae without proper medical credentials. A claimed to have been a professor at a hospital in Inner Mongolia, but after the Korean Medical Association flagged her for practicing without a license, she deleted all social media content and has reportedly gone into hiding.
Griffin Entertainment concluded their statement by urging the public to focus on the facts and avoid speculative narratives.
As the investigation continues, fans are rallying behind Onew, urging a respectful and fact-based discussion of the incident.
