Super Junior’s Shindong recently shared several photos on his personal account, writing, “I saw the ocean, walked a lot, and ate well. Traveled like a YouTuber,” alongside snapshots from his trip to the United States. The photos were taken near the beach and coastline around Irvine, Orange County, capturing relaxed moments from his travels.

What immediately drew attention, however, was Shindong’s noticeably slimmer figure and refreshed visuals. Compared to his image during Super Junior’s peak promotional years, his current appearance marked a striking change. Online reactions quickly poured in, with netizens commenting, “I didn’t recognize him at first,” “He lost so much weight,” and “Congrats on the successful diet.”

Fans, in particular, expressed mixed emotions: both admiration and concern. Comments ranged from “He looks amazing” and “So handsome, total boyfriend material” to “He lost too much weight; I’m worried about his health. Health comes first.”

Shindong has previously spoken candidly about his long struggle with dieting. On KBS2’s variety show “Problem Child in House,” he revealed a bittersweet story: “I lost 37 kilograms in five months, but it only took three months to gain it back. I even tried Wegovy, but it didn’t work. The doctor told me, ‘Shindong, you defeated Wegovy.’” His honest confession drew laughter while highlighting the challenges he has faced.

Debuting in 2005 as a member of Super Junior, Shindong gained attention early on for breaking the mold of the typical “slim idol,” earning praise for his powerful dance skills and confident stage presence. Beyond music, he has continued to shine as an entertainer, showcasing sharp wit and strong variety show chemistry across numerous programs.
