Actress Shin Se Kyung declared war on malicious commenters.
EDAM Entertainment announced on August 31st, “Violation of personal rights toward our actress Shin Se Kyung (hereinafter referred to as ‘actress’) such as posting malicious falsehood and slander, production and distribution of false articles, insulting family are continued on online communities and social media.”
They explained, “We are constantly monitoring hate comments to protect our actress, and designated law firm SHINWON (LLP) as our legal representative to file criminal charges. We have been informed of the progress of criminal action from our legal representative and hereby notify you of the content.”
Shin Se Kyung’s side said, “We have filed complaints against 43 people and an unknown person at Gangnam Police Station in Seoul on October 27th, 2021. Following that, we have filed complaints against 1 person and an unknown person at Gangnam Police Station on February 23rd this year.”
The agency continued, “We completed the investigation as the accuser but we are having difficulties securing identities of the accused. However, according to the recent law, cases where investigation is resumed after verification are increasing once evidences to specify the identity of the accused are secured although the investigation was bogged down because it was difficult to confirm the identity of the accused after the first complaint was filed.”
They emphasized strong legal action, “We are closing in as we are continuously securing additional data to secure the identities of the accused who are still uploading malicious posts about our actress and we strongly warn you that the day of uncompromising judgment by the law is forthcoming.”
Lastly, they added, “We will demand the investigation agency to proceed without providing leniency as soon as we confirm additional information on the identity of the accused even if it takes some time. In order to prevent the recurrence of uploading malicious posts that are defamation of character and reputation of our actress, we will pursue them until the end and hold the accused to strong legal responsibility.“
Meanwhile, Shin Se Kyung will appear in tvN’s new Saturday-Sunday drama “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon”, which is scheduled to air on September 9th.
