Shin Min-ah is set to showcase a dramatic new side of her acting through the upcoming suspense thriller The Eyes, with newly released stills already heightening anticipation among fans.
The film has been drawing attention for Shin Min Ah’s ambitious dual-role performance, marking one of the actress’s most intense transformations to date.
The Eyes follows Seo Jin, a photographer slowly losing her vision due to a hereditary disease, as she begins investigating the mysterious death of her twin sister. As she digs deeper into the truth, Seo Jin is forced to confront a terrifying reality hidden beneath the surface.
On May 29, the production team unveiled a new set of official still cuts teasing the movie’s unpredictable storyline and chilling suspense-filled atmosphere.
One of the newly released images captures Seo Jin developing photographs inside a darkroom illuminated by deep red lighting, emphasizing the film’s eerie visual tone. Despite gradually losing her eyesight, Seo Jin continues working as a photographer, expressing her world through the lens of a camera.
Another still shows Seo Jin wearing dark green pajamas while staring intensely at something off-screen, creating an unsettling sense of tension.
The preview images also hint at the complicated relationship between Seo Jin and Hyun Min, a model who works closely with her. Their interactions appear to blur the line between friendship and obsession, adding another layer of psychological intrigue to the story.
Meanwhile, the appearance of Seo Jin’s twin sister Seo In — dressed in white and smiling brightly — further raises curiosity about Shin Min Ah’s one-person-two-roles performance.
Additional stills tease the growing mystery as Seo Jin heads to her missing sister’s home alongside Mi Kyung, the police officer assigned to protect her. Their cautious expressions suggest that the investigation may soon spiral into something far more dangerous than expected.
The suspense intensifies further with the introduction of Do Hyuk, a detective who becomes involved in the case. Although wary of Seo Jin’s growing obsession with uncovering her sister’s death, he ultimately becomes her “eyes” during the investigation as they chase the truth together.
One particularly haunting still features Seo Jin with bandages covering her eyes while Do Hyuk visits her, signaling a major turning point in the story. Another image sharply shifts the atmosphere, showing a terrified Seo Jin standing before an unidentified figure lurking behind her, teasing the shocking truth awaiting her at the center of the mystery.
Known primarily for her romantic dramas and emotional performances, Shin Min Ah is now aiming to solidify her status as a new “thriller queen” through The Eyes.
The suspense thriller is scheduled to premiere in South Korea on June 24.
