On July 29th, an account on X (formerly Twitter) released screenshots of a Kakaotalk conversation with A, who is a staff at a club, and mentioned Mingyu of SEVENTEEN. A is in charge of managing table reservations and VIP guests.
According to the conversation, A sent their acquaintance a video of someone and claimed that he was Mingyu. A said, “He booked the table where people never pass by on purpose. Why do you think he chose the table that others would never spend money on when going to clubs?”, pointing out that it was a table in the corner. A added that Mingyu asked them to put down the curtains, seemingly to prevent others from recognizing him, and ordered cheap drinks.
When the acquaintance asked, “What did he do there? I guess he didn’t just visit the club to listen to music”. A replied, “He went there to hang out with girls, drink alcohol then left at 4 a.m.”
When asked, “What kind of girls did he choose? What is his taste?”, A said, “He asked for some girls to be brought to his table and then decided on the oneness to stay. Just plastic monsters, who did surgery everywhere, on their eyes, nose and lips”. A also revealed that Mingyu visited the club again on June 5th.
The post quickly spread in online communities and caused a stir among Korean netizens. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the person in the video was Mingyu and the credibility of the revelation.
