Pledis group SEVENTEEN has surpassed a total of 10 million album sales.
According to Pledis Entertainment on November 12th, SEVENTEEN‘s cumulative domestic sales of albums exceeded 10.13 million.
This is the first time the group has such an achievement in more than six and a half years since its debut in May 2015, proving the high global popularity of SEVENTEEN, which has been growing since its debut and achieving new career heights with every album.
In particular, SEVENTEEN surpassed 110,000 cumulative sales with its first mini album “17 Carat” released in May 2015, but its ninth mini album “Attacca,” released on the 22nd of last month, recorded more than 1.9 million cumulative sales, 18 times more than its debut album’s achievement.
SEVENTEEN has achieved the title of million-seller for five consecutive productions, including its third full-length album “An Ode,” its seventh mini-album Hengarae, its special album “Semicolon,” its eighth mini-album “Your Choice” and its ninth mini-album “Attacca.” All of the albums the group released in 2021 sold more than 1 million copies.
The group’s ninth mini-album “Attacca” entered Billboard’s main album chart “Billboard 200” at No.13, two rankings higher than its previous record, and topped the “Top Album Sales,” “Top Current Album Sales” and “World Album” charts for two consecutive weeks.
In addition, SEVENTEEN topped Japan’s Oricon weekly album rankings (November 15), and topped the Billboard Japan’s “Hot Album Chart” and the weekly album chart “Top Sales Album” chart (November 10), showing its status as a “global K-pop powerhouse” by topping the charts after only two weeks.
As such, SEVENTEEN pioneered its own genre by solidifying its music color and identity through its own productions. As it shook the world with a wide range of musical spectra and colorful performances across various genres, attention is being paid to the group’s future activities.
SEVENTEEN will hold the online concert “SEVENTEEN CONCERT: POWER OF LOVE” at 5 p.m. on November 14th and 21st, and hold a Japan edition of this concert at 6 p.m. on November 18th.
