Former BIGBANG member Seungri is once again in the spotlight after recent photos revealed his surprising transformation and hinted at possible ties to ongoing criminal investigations in Cambodia.
The newly circulated image shows Seungri smiling brightly, wearing sunglasses and a cap, and holding a necklace next to a jewelry entrepreneur. Fans were taken aback by how different he looked from his K-pop days—his fuller face and relaxed demeanor making him nearly unrecognizable compared to his idol years.

Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in 2019 following his involvement in the notorious Burning Sun scandal, where he faced nine criminal charges including habitual gambling, prostitution mediation, embezzlement, and violating foreign exchange and food safety laws. He served 18 months in prison and was released in early 2023.

Despite serving his sentence, Seungri’s controversies didn’t end. He has since been spotted at clubs and tangled in various dating rumors. In January 2024, he stirred more criticism by attending an event in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where he reportedly remarked, “I’ll bring G‑Dragon here someday.” The event later became linked to allegations surrounding organized crime in Cambodia—an association that only added fuel to speculation about his continued involvement in questionable circles.
The club he visited, now reportedly shut down, was associated with Prince Group, a Chinese-run Cambodian conglomerate recently targeted by international sanctions over suspected links to human trafficking and online scams.

Further intensifying the controversy, a university student was found dead in Cambodia in July 2025, drawing attention back to criminal activities in the region. With renewed focus on the country’s dark underbelly, Seungri’s presence at such events has reignited public scrutiny.
As investigations and rumors unfold, Seungri’s unexpected reappearance—and drastically altered image—has once again positioned him at the center of conversation, blurring the line between former idol and contentious public figure.
