On March 13 at 8 PM, Seohyun will perform as a special guest soloist at the 8th Regular Concert of the Sol Philharmonic Orchestra, held at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa, Seoul. She will play Vittorio Monti’s “Csárdás,” a piece known for its intense rhythms and emotional melodies, offering audiences a fresh taste of classical music.

What makes this performance even more remarkable is the fact that Seohyun has only been learning the violin for about five months. Referring to herself with the endearing nickname “Barinist” (a blend of “violin” and “beginner”), she approaches the stage not as a polished professional, but as someone deeply passionate about music. Rather than aiming for perfection, Seohyun hopes to share the pure joy of music with the audience.

Her participation aligns with the mission of the Sol Philharmonic Orchestra, a group composed of classical music lovers rather than full-time professionals. Seohyun agreed to the collaboration with the intention of making classical music feel more accessible and relatable to the public.

“I hope my challenge brings classical music closer to many people,” Seohyun shared. “I want to show that classical music, like pop music, can be fun and easy to enjoy—music for everyone.”

Though the violin began as a hobby, Seohyun has been earnestly rehearsing with the orchestra to prepare for the concert. Her performance promises to bring a fresh, sincere energy to classical fans and introduce new charm to pop music followers discovering the genre.

A representative from Sol Philharmonic Orchestra commented, “We believe Seohyun’s participation will lower the barriers to classical concerts. This stage will be special, filled with a pure love for music.”

Beyond a personal challenge, Seohyun’s journey acts as a bridge between classical and contemporary music. As she continues to expand her artistic horizons, many are curious to see what delightful surprises she’ll deliver in this upcoming concert.

Conducted by Jo Sang-wook, the concert will also feature violinist Baek Ju-young and include a diverse program such as Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, Márquez’s Danzón No. 2, and “Spring” from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Tickets are available via the Lotte Concert Hall and NOL Ticket websites.
