On March 13, Seohyun appeared as a special guest performer at the 8th regular concert of the Sol Philharmonic Orchestra, taking the stage at Lotte Concert Hall.

The performance drew attention as it marked her return to the violin just seven months after picking it up again for the first time since childhood. However, some classical music majors criticized her debut at such a prestigious venue, arguing it reflected unfair advantages given to celebrities.

Addressing the criticism, organist and I Am Solo contestant Jung Sook (Season 13) defended Seohyun, saying she saw no issue. She pointed out that the orchestra itself consisted of amateurs and emphasized the effort Seohyun must have put into preparing for the stage. She also noted that Seohyun’s popularity could help introduce classical music to wider audiences, calling it a meaningful contribution to the genre’s accessibility.

After successfully completing the performance, Seohyun shared her thoughts on March 16 through her social media account. She admitted feeling significant pressure, explaining that although it was an amateur-focused event celebrating music lovers, she still questioned whether she could perform well on such a large stage and took the preparation very seriously.

Through her agency, she humbly added, “Although my skills may be lacking, I sincerely enjoyed preparing for this performance. I hope my music can give someone the courage to start something new or provide comfort to those who are feeling tired.”

According to her agency, Seohyun practiced intensely for 8 to 10 hours a day during the preparation period. She also participated without receiving any performance fee, donating all proceeds from the concert to support socially vulnerable groups, including orchestras for people with disabilities.

For the encore, she performed the violin rendition of “Into the New World,” her debut song with Girls’ Generation, moving the audience with its familiar melody reinterpreted through orchestral arrangement. Many praised her for helping bridge the gap between mainstream pop and classical music.

Fellow Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon also showed her support by sharing some photos with Seohyun and writing, “Meeting your new world again. Your challenge was truly touching and amazing, Seo Juhyun,” applauding her effort and dedication.
