According to a recent report by Tokyo Sports, several companies have proactively reached out to Ryoko Hirosue with proposals for future collaborations. The news quickly drew public attention, as the actress has remained out of the spotlight since being involved in a serious traffic accident last year.
Hirosue, long regarded as one of Japan’s most beloved actresses and often referred to as the nation’s “pure image” star, has kept a low profile amid legal and health-related challenges. The sudden emergence of comeback rumors has fueled curiosity about whether she may soon resume her entertainment career.
Industry insiders noted that many of today’s casting decision-makers belong to a generation that personally experienced the height of the “Hirosue phenomenon.” Some are said to be longtime admirers who hope to support her professional return if circumstances allow.
Despite the reported offers, sources stress that any comeback plans remain tentative. Hirosue’s health condition is reportedly the top priority, with discussions focusing on long-term recovery rather than immediate activity.

The controversy began in April last year when Hirosue was involved in a traffic accident while driving on the Shin-Tomei Expressway in Shizuoka Prefecture. Her vehicle reportedly collided with the rear of a container truck, leaving a male passenger seriously injured, including fractured ribs.
Authorities later revealed that the vehicle was allegedly traveling at approximately 185 km/h at the time of impact. In December, the Kakegawa Public Prosecutors Office pursued a summary indictment for negligent driving causing injury.
On December 23, the Kakegawa Summary Court sentenced Hirosue to a 700,000-yen fine, bringing the legal proceedings to a close. Allegations that she assaulted a nurse following the accident were investigated but ultimately not prosecuted.
Following her release from police custody on April 16 last year, Hirosue was hospitalized and publicly disclosed her medical condition. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and hyperthyroidism, prompting her to suspend all entertainment activities indefinitely.
Since the incident, the actress has remained silent on social media, choosing to focus entirely on treatment and recovery both physically and mentally.
While her reputation suffered significant damage following the accident, the recent reports suggest that Hirosue’s legacy and influence within the industry have not disappeared entirely.
