Rumors of discord among the cast of Running Man have surfaced again after actress Song Ji-hyo made a surprising remark about fellow cast member Ji Suk-jin, labeling his personality as “not good” during a recent variety show appearance.
In the July 17 video on the YouTube channel SsookSsook, titled “A Game That’s Trending?! Almost Sent Our Friendship to the Afterlife”, cast members reflected on their first impressions of one another. When asked who gave off the worst first impression, Song Ji-hyo hesitated before revealing, “It was Ji Suk-jin.”
Recalling their early days on Running Man, Song Ji-hyo said, “We were filming at a place like the World Cup Stadium, and there was a diss battle. I was new to variety at the time, and he (Ji Suk-jin) spoke so harshly that I thought, ‘Wow, he really has a bad personality.’”
Defending himself, Ji Suk-jin responded, “That was all for comedy — just a playful diss,” to which Song Ji-hyo laughed and added, “Back then I didn’t understand variety shows… I get it now.”

Ji Seok-jin jokingly fired back, “What do you mean ‘back then’? You didn’t get it for ten years!” before mimicking her frequently asking him, “Why are you like this to me?” — prompting laughter all around.
Comedian Yang Se-chan also chimed in with a personal anecdote about Ji Suk-jin. “When I first guested on Running Man, Suk-jin treated me really well. But after I joined as a fixed member, during a team dinner the next day, he didn’t even recognize me,” Yang said. “He saw me and asked, ‘How was your day yesterday?’ and I told him, ‘We filmed Running Man together!’ and he just said, ‘Oh, you were there?’ and walked in.”

Yang added with a laugh, “Now I know that’s just his personality — that kind of comment is his way of saying hi.”
Though framed with humor and camaraderie, these confessions have sparked online buzz, with fans speculating whether tension still lingers behind the scenes. Despite the laughs, moments like these highlight the complexities of long-term cast dynamics in Korea’s most enduring variety show.
