“Running Man” & “Hangout With Yoo” Teams Show Eagerness For A Collaboration Despite Difficulties 

Fans began to raise expectations for a collaboration between “Running Man” and “Hangout with Yoo” since the members of “Hangout with Yoo” complained about “Running Man”.

Back then, “Running Man” members Kim Jong-kook, Ji Suk-jin, Yang Se-chan and Haha were diagnosed with Covid-19. Due to the overlap of cast members, the filming of “Hangout with Yoo” was also postponed. In this regard, “Hangout with Yoo” members, such as Jung Jun-ha, commented, “The filming has been delayed twice. Isn’t it because of ‘Running Man’?”, “Yoo Jae-suk should make a choice now”, “At this point, ‘Running Man’ should send an apology to us in the opening section”, etc.

In response, Yoo Jae-suk said, “The PDs of the two programs should have a showdown. How about making a collaboration like that? Personally, I think ‘Running Man’ PD will win”.

When “Hangout with Yoo” formed the project group MSG Wannabe M.O.M, they even appeared on “Running Man” to promote their song with a performance, making viewers look forward to the two programs’ official collaboration even more.

While there are still no specific plans for these two worldviews to meet, “Running Man” production team drew attention as they revealed their thoughts on such a collaboration through the video content uploaded on Kim Jong-kook’s YouTube channel “GYM JONGKOOK” on February 1st. The video shows PDs in charge of fixed members, the main PD, and former PDs of “Running Man” gathering together.

Kim Jong-kook shared, “Earlier in January, I did a live broadcast at a gathering of ‘Hangout With Yoo’ members, and surprisingly, the responses were so good. The main PD of ‘Hangout With Yoo’ is also willing to do it. What if we do something with ‘Hangout With Yoo’ team?”. 

“Running Man” PDs cautiously replied, “It’s a great idea in terms of popularity, but we should consider the issues related to the two broadcasting companies. Even if we shoot together, it is also important to decide on which program airs the content first”. Kim Jong-kook then suggested, “Why don’t we film separate content for the two programs instead of filming the same thing and editing it differently? Should we decide the order through a game? We can have a quiz show or a game between the PDs.”

As the PDs said, there are many obstacles to overcome to make the collaboration possible, including programming order, items and issues between the two broadcasting stations. Nevertheless, both Yoo Jae-suk and Kim Jong-kook are determined to give it a try. Attention is focused on whether viewers will be able to see a grand collaboration between “Running Man” and “Hangout With Yoo” this year.
