Rosé Reported to be The Only BLACKPINK Member to Re-sign With YG

BLACKPINK’s contract issue is currently the talk of the town

According to news from Sports Seoul on September 21st, Rosé has re-signed with YG. Meanwhile, the other three members, Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa, are in the final stages of discussion with YG to transfer to another company but will continue their activities with BLACKPINK.

Sports Seoul compares this situation to the contract arrangement of Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Kyuhyun, who had their contracts with SM Entertainment expire early. They moved to another company for individual development but still had an agreement to continue group activities.

Among the four BLACKPINK members, Jisoo has the potential to carry out activities as an actress, and Lisa, the Thai member who has high popularity overseas, is reportedly considering a contract offer worth tens of billions of won.

According to officials in the K-pop industry, foreign investors have already invested a large amount of money in Jisoo’s potential as an actress and Lisa’s influence in the Southeast Asian market, including her home country Thailand. Each of them has reportedly signed a contract with a different Korean company.

YG Entertainment’s stock immediately dropped by more than 13% as soon as rumors surfaced that only Rosé had re-signed among the BLACKPINK members.
