‘Romance Master’ Lee Dong-wook Reveals Experience Of Acting Alongside Lim Soo-jung In “Single in Seoul”
Actor Lee Dong-wook introduced his new film “Single in Seoul”
On November 21st, Lee Dong-wook had an interview with OSEN at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul. Recommending his new movie “Single in Seoul” to movie fans, Lee Dong-wook said, “If you watch it when you’re flirting with each other, the movie will help you get momentum in your relationship. To those who experienced breakups, you can look back on your past and say ‘We did have good memories’.”
“Single in Seoul” depicts the romance of power influencer Yeong-ho (Lee Dong-wook), who likes being alone, and Hyun-jin (Lim Soo-jung), an editor of a publishing company who doesn’t like to be alone, creating a book about single life together.
The actor shared, “Fewer and fewer romance films are being produced nowadays. What I want now is the success of ‘Single in Seoul’. There are many elements to sympathize with because the season in the movie is similar to the current time and there are stories of our lives.”
Regarding his experience of working with Lim Soo-jung, Lee Dong-wook said, “She has a lovely side in real life. But when it comes to the shoot, she’s a real veteran actress. Her acting method is different from mine. She acted more detailed, and that sometimes made me look back on my own performance”, adding “Lim Soo-jung was very supportive toward everyone around her and that made me feel comfortable. I discussed with her a lot before we filmed any scenes. The important thing is that the director was very open-minded and he reflected our opinions in the movie.”
Expressing his satisfaction with the movie’s ending, Lee Dong-wook said, “I like it because it’s realistic. This is the best ending for this story.” Regarding the advantages of the romance genre, the actor shared, “It’s easy and comfortable to watch. Also, it can be watched by viewers of many generations.”
Lee Dong-wook then confessed himself as a person who prefers to be single like his character Yeong-ho in the movie. He also revealed his view on dating and marriage.
In addition, the actor also mentioned his frequent appearances on the web entertainment program “Pinggyegyo” hosted by Yoo Jae-suk. He said, “I wondered ‘Am I that funny?’. I and other people just laughed and talked among ourselves, and I don’t know what viewers think. But I’m glad everyone enjoys it”, adding “I don’t have any plans to run a personal YouTube channel and I think it’s not necessary.”
“Single in Seoul”, which marks the comeback of “romance master” Lee Dong-wook, will premiere on November 29th.
