On May 20, BTS members held a live broadcast through Weverse where they talked about various episodes from their military service.
During the livestream, RM revealed, “I gave my card to soldiers from the neighboring platoon so they could buy snacks at the PX, but they ended up spending ₩660,000.”
He continued by explaining that the purchases even included items such as snail cream and other daily necessities, making the total unexpectedly huge.
RM then added, “Because of that, the PX payment machine actually broke down. They told me it was the first time something like that had ever happened.”
The BTS leader further explained, “When I checked the receipt, there were more than 100 items listed. The guys said they bought them to give to their parents.”
He also recalled being called in by his squad leader afterward. RM shared, “My squad leader called me over and asked, ‘What on earth are you doing?’ so I apologized.”
After the clip spread online, netizens reacted with a mix of shock and amusement. Comments included, “Were they all broke or something?” “They spent ₩660,000 at the PX?” “Even if someone is rich, there should still be limits,” and “RM basically did filial piety on behalf of everyone.”
