RIIZE’s Seunghan Halts Activities, Personally Apologizes in Handwritten Letter for Impulsive Actions

Amidst the controversy over his private life, RIIZE’s Seunghan issued an apology in a handwritten letter

On November 22nd, Seunghan expressed, “I am well aware that my past impulsive actions are causing too much harm to many people now. I truly reflect on it. I want to sincerely apologize to the fans who have supported me and RIIZE members.”

He continued, “I deeply reflect on the fact that I have caused so much harm at a time when I should be working harder than ever. I truly reflect and will make more efforts to become a better person.”

Earlier on the same day, SM Entertainment announced Seunghan’s indefinite suspension of activities. The company said, “Due to the issues related to the unauthorized leakage and dissemination of his personal life through recent social media and online community posts, Seunghan is sincerely sorry for causing disappointment to the group, members, and fans.” RIIZE will continue activities with the remaining six members, excluding Seunghan.

SM Entertainment emphasized, “However, the videos and photos currently being leaked and disseminated were taken during the pre-debut trainee period in private moments. They have been intentionally reproduced multiple times through deliberate secondary editing using footage with identifiable sources, causing misunderstandings.” SM stated that they would respond firmly to the invasion of Seunghan’s privacy.

Seunghan debuted with RIIZE in September and faced criticism for allegations of smoking during his underage years and the leakage of intimate photos taken with a woman before his debut, all within less than 100 days since his debut.
