RIIZE Criticized by K-netizens for Lackluster Attitude in Livestream with BND

At late night on June 20, a topic titled “RIIZE’s reaction in the Daechinso live is so disappointing” was published on the Korean forum Pann Nate, drawing attention. 

In particular, a topic attached a video with over 3 million views, capturing a snippet of the Daechinso livestream, where BND’s Jaehyun can be seen introducing the new song of RIIZE. 

However, even though Jaehyun said, “When you watch it, there’s nothing lacking in both the visuals and the music”, RIIZE members did not show any reaction, leading to an awkward atmosphere. It got to the point where BND’s Jaehyun had to tell RIIZE’s Sohee to “help him” since it’s not his song. 

Upon seeing the video, many K-netizens left negative comments regarding RIIZE, calling their attitude lackluster. While some defend RIIZE by saying the group are introverts and insisting that the atmosphere becomes more comfortable later on, they only make up a small fraction. 

Below are some comments regarding the topic:

• This is the first time I’ve seen idols not reacting when someone else is promoting their song. Being introverted has nothing to do with it. If you can’t do something interesting, at least try to react and don’t make others feel awkward like that.
• If you watch the entire live stream, you’ll see many moments like the one in the video. Myung Jaehyun is truly an amazing person. I will support him in the future.
• Whether you’re introverted or not, you should at least react when on camera. Not helping someone promoting your song and just standing there can lead to attitude controversies.
• This group (RIIZE) should just stick together and not interact with others to avoid causing discomfort.
• Guys calm down, it’s just a cut from a long video, RIIZE probably thought that Jaehyun was still talking and was waiting for him to finish 
• I believe the atmosphere get comfortable later on, so the insults here are unwarranted 
• While it’s sad to see RIIZE being called rude, I must admit the group lacks awareness and sensitivity. They really need to practice their reactions.
