'Asia's Star' BoA to Release New Album and Make a Comeback as a Singer on the 26th

According to Star News on the 14th, BoA is scheduled to release a new single through various music sites on the 26th. This marks her return to her main profession as a singer after expanding her activities as an actress and producer. With her comeback approaching, she plans to sequentially carry out promotions to announce her new song soon.

BoA recently finished filming her new music video and has been coordinating the final release schedule. Earlier this month, it was reported exclusively by Star News that BoA was actively working towards releasing a new album by the end of this month. Amidst the announcement of a comeback by her labelmate boy group NCT DREAM on the 25th, BoA is preparing to make her comeback the next day on the 26th.

This release will be BoA’s first since her third mini-album “Forgive Me,” which was released in November 2022, approximately 1 year and 4 months ago. During this time, BoA engaged with music fans by participating as a member of the girl group GOT the beat and the tvN variety show “Dance Singer Tour.”

GOT the beat is a project group consisting of female artists from BoA’s agency, SM Entertainment, including Taeyeon and Hyoyeon from Girls’ Generation, Seulgi and Wendy from Red Velvet, and Karina and Winter from aespa. They released their first mini-album “Stamp On It” in January last year.

“Dance Singer Tour” is a program featuring star female dancers from Korea touring the country together. BoA, along with other singers like Um Jung-hwa, Kim Wan-sun, Lee Hyori, and Hwasa, garnered attention by participating. She also served as the MC for the JTBC music program “K-909,” which ended in July last year.

BoA has recently showcased her acting skills as well. Particularly, she made a strong impression as a fierce villain in the latter part of the popular tvN drama “Marry My Husband,” which ended last month. Portraying Oh Yura, who was engaged to Yoo Ji-hyuk (played by Na In-woo), BoA received much attention for her intense villainous character. After returning from a sweet overseas reward vacation with the production team and cast of “Marry My Husband” for three nights and five days from the 10th, BoA devoted herself to preparing for her comeback as a singer.

BoA has also been active as a producer, contributing to the debut album of NCT WISH, a rookie boy group launched by her agency SM Entertainment. Attending the NCT WISH debut showcase held at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the 4th, BoA expressed her feelings about NCT WISH, saying, “They are my direct juniors, but since I personally selected them through an audition program, I felt more attached. They are a team that will be active in both Korea and Japan, so I decided to participate hoping it will go well, recalling the moments when I was active in Korea and Japan.”

Debuting as a shining star in the music industry at the age of just 13 in 2000, BoA grew to become a representative Hallyu star in Japan, earning the title of ‘Asia’s Star.’

Recently, proving her versatility as an ‘all-rounder’ by working as an actress and producer, BoA is set to return to her main profession as a singer. Anticipation is high for what kind of music she will present to her fans.
