On February 10th, “Seulgi’s Vlog” video was uploaded on the official Youtube channel of Red Velvet. On this day, Seulgi enjoyed a home-cooked meal with seaweed soup she cooked for herself on her birthday.
Seulgi then mentioned the “perilla leaf debate”.
This debate is a test that has recently become a hot topic online in Korea, asking whether someone should separate the perilla/sesame leaves or peel the shrimps for someone else who is not his girlfriend/boyfriend. This kind of test is to find out people’s attitudes towards behaviors that might stimulate jealousy in a romantic relationship.
Fans were also curious about Seulgi’s thoughts on this issue.
Seulgi said, “ I think I wouldn’t care. Is there anything wrong? I just think it’s fine to help someone out with that”. However, she pointed out one thing. She said it doesn’t matter how one holds the perilla leaves but their gaze is more important.
Seulgi shared, “It’s fine as long as you don’t send some strange signal. An eye signal that is like ‘I care for you’? Or something like that”. She also made some expressions as her words.
Seulgi then added, “But to be considerate, I think you can do it”.
