Rain & Kim Tae-hee Purchased Another Building, Proving Themselves As Real Estate Masters

Singer & actor Rain, husband of actress Kim Tae-hee, purchased another real estate in the Apgujeong Redeo area

According to a report by Sports Seoul and the real estate industry on August 1st, Rain purchased a building in the Apgujeong Rodeo area with 15.89 billion won earlier this year, on January 16th, under the name of Mega Big Entertainment, a company in which his father is registered as the CEO. Rain completed the payment and gained ownership of the building on February 28th. The building is currently entrusted to Woori Asset Trust.

This building is located on the way from Hanyang Apartment to Rodeo Street in a business district with numerous galleries, hair salons, offices, and restaurants. The land area of the building is 315.3㎡ and the total floor area of 1085.7㎡. The transaction amount is 1.667 billion won per 3.3㎡. It has one basement and six floors on the ground, including parking facilities.

Earlier in 2021, Rain and his wife, actress Kim Tae-hee, jointly bought a building located in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu worth 92 billion won. Rain owns 6/10 of the total stake in the building, while the rest is held by a company represented by Kim Tae-hee. In March last year, the famous burger franchise Shake Shack rented this building to open its store in Gangnam district. The monthly rent is reportedly about 100 million won.

Rain and Kim Tae-hee are known to have owned around 100 billion won from selling real estate in 2022. According to a broadcast, the two earned 39.8 billion won by selling a building in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu. In May this year, they sold a luxury house in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, which they purchased with 5.3 billion won in 2016, for 8.5 billion won, gaining a profit of 3.2 billion won. Thanks to these real estate transactions, the couple’s assets have surpassed 100 billion won. 

Some other celebrities are also known to have made successful investments in real estate. Seo Tae-ji made 30 billion won in profit by selling the Nohyeon-dong building he bought with 5 billion won in 2002. Lee Hyo-ri and Lee Sang-soon also succeeded in gaining profits by selling the Hannam-dong building, which they bought with 5.8 billion won in 2019, for 8.8 billion won last month.
