On September 25, QWER’s agencies 3Y Corporation and Prism Filter released a joint statement: “We would like to make it clear that QWER’s official lightstick poses no issues in terms of design or copyright.”
The agencies further explained, “We have consulted with lawyers and patent attorneys on multiple occasions regarding this lightstick, and confirmed there are absolutely no problems, including copyright infringement. Nevertheless, while we were in the middle of amicable discussions with One Hundred (The Boyz’s agency), they abruptly announced their intent to pursue legal action, which we deeply regret.”

The controversy arose after QWER revealed the design of their official lightstick for their upcoming world tour. Its megaphone-shaped design drew attention for allegedly resembling The Boyz’s official lightstick. Regarding this, One Hundred stated, “After becoming aware of the issue, we requested that QWER discuss design changes, but no final agreement was reached. We sincerely apologize for not responding to the controversy sooner, and we will take strong action, including legal procedures in collaboration with relevant organizations, to ensure such incidents never happen again.”
