“Queen of Tears” Shows Popularity In Japan By Selling Out Tokyo Pop-up Store Every Day

Tickets to “Queen of Tears” pop-up store in Tokyo, Japan are sold out every day, proving the drama’s popularity

Queen of Tears” pop-up store opened on July 12th and it will be held in Tower Records Shibuya brand in Tokyo until July 28th.

More than 10,000 people have visited the pop-up stores as of the 25th, even though the number of visitors allowed to enter the pop-up store per day was limited to 800 to prevent safety accidents.

At the Tokyo pop-up store, fans can find a variety of merchandise related to “Queen of Tears”, including clear files, acrylic keyrings, keyholders, postcard sets, tote bags, etc. Among these, items like clear files and acrylic keyrings quickly sold out. In addition, props used in the drama, such as the hairdryer Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) uses to dry Hae-in (Kim Ji-won)’s hair in Yongdu-ri, the MP3 player confirming Hyun-woo and Hae-in’s destiny, and the recording pen of Chairman Hong Man-dae, are also displayed at the pop-up store.

An official from the pop-up store at Tokyo Tower Records Shibuya said, “Responses are beyond your expectations. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback from fans in Japan who had been anticipating the pop-up store, and tickets also sold out very quickly. It is clear that ‘Queen of Tears’ has many passionate fans”.

They continued, “Since Korean dramas are very popular in Japan, we look forward to opening pop-up stores for K-dramas more often in the future”.

Thanks to the success of the Tokyo pop-up store, “Queen of Tears” will hold more pop-up stores in three Japanese cities, including Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, from August to October. In addition, a pop-up store will also take place in Manila, the Philippines in August.

An official from Studio Dragon, the organizer of the pop-up store event, stated, “We plan the pop-up store due to high expectations from fans of the mega-hit drama ‘Queen of Tears’ in Japan.
