Qiao Xin, often described as the “wealthiest 9X beauty in Chinese showbiz,” recently became the center of controversy regarding her actual family background. Although widely recognized for her luxurious lifestyle and elite upbringing, reports from QQ on November 17 suggest that much of her “heiress” image is more symbolic than factual.

According to sources within the industry, Qiao Xin’s mother remarried a wealthy businessman in Shanghai. Both had daughters from previous marriages, and together they raised their children. Qiao Xin’s stepfather also had a son with her mother, and while he provided Qiao Xin with a lavish lifestyle, she has no blood relation and is not entitled to inherit any of his fortune.

“Qiao Xin grew up under her mother’s guidance to enter high society, being trained in etiquette, manners, and acting to prepare her for a wealthy marriage,” reports QQ. After a reportedly unpleasant encounter with actor Yang Yang, her mother forbade her from dating anyone within the entertainment industry, instead arranging connections through elite social events. This eventually led to her marriage with Lai Bolin, heir to a major real estate corporation.

According to iFeng, Lai Bolin is the second son of the chairman of the Hongrongyuan group in Shenzhen. Educated abroad and holding an impressive career, he serves as a senior CEO in the family business and runs his own company, with a personal net worth exceeding 100 million CNY. Unlike a traditional arranged union, Qiao Xin and Lai Bolin reportedly dated privately before marriage, and their relationship is described as affectionate and genuine.

Qiao Xin, born in 1993, grew up in opulence. During university, she reportedly commuted in a supercar, living in a Shanghai mansion spanning 1,200 m², capable of hosting a helicopter and parking over 200 vehicles. Property prices in her neighborhood reportedly reach 200,000 CNY per square meter. The family also owns luxury villas abroad, including in Canada.

On a television program, Qiao Xin described her upbringing: “My father promised to provide for me until I got married. After I married, he would also provide for my husband.”

Despite her high-profile lifestyle, insiders emphasize that her reputation as the “richest 9X actress in China” or “Shanghai princess” is partly constructed, with her stepfather’s wealth remaining outside her inheritance. Nevertheless, her marriage into the Lai family significantly elevated her social status, cementing her position among China’s elite.
