On December 11, PSY’s agency P NATION confirmed to Ilgan Sports that their offices were searched on December 4. A spokesperson said, “We actively cooperated with the authorities and will continue to take necessary measures in accordance with legal procedures.”
According to police, the Seoul Seodaemun Police Station conducted the raid on PSY’s agency office and vehicle as part of an investigation into potential violations of medical law. Authorities also performed digital forensic analysis on PSY’s phone to secure evidence related to non-face-to-face prescriptions and proxy collection. A summons for PSY is under consideration.

PSY was initially booked in August for allegedly obtaining prescription drugs without in-person consultations and having his manager collect them on his behalf. The medications in question are classified as controlled substances typically used to treat sleep and anxiety disorders, as well as depression.
The singer’s agency explained, “During the COVID-19 period, we received prescriptions via non-face-to-face consultations, and due to PSY’s busy schedule, this practice continued afterward. We acknowledge this was a careless oversight.” They also emphasized that PSY did not misuse or overdose on the medication.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are reviewing further legal steps regarding the case.
