Prosecution Requests Imprisonment For Former Idol Rapper On Illegal Filming Charges

The sentencing hearing for idol rapper A, who was accused of illegally filming a woman when they were dating, has been scheduled

Earlier, former idol rapper A was accused of filming sexual intercourse scenes and body parts of B, whom he had been dating from July 2022 to May last year.

It has been confirmed that A asked B to wear a blindfold and then used a silent camera app to secretly film the scene while having sex. A also filmed the back of woman C, whom he met at a bar in Gangnam, Seoul, when she was lying on a bed with only underwear on four times in July last year.

In September last year, Seoul Yongsan Police Station sent A to the prosecution and the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office indicted him without detention in December last year on charges of violating the Special Sexual Violence Punishment Act (filming and distributing illegal videos using cameras, etc.).

At the trial held in June, the prosecution requested a three-year imprisonment for A, saying “Please take into consideration the fact that the defendant clearly committed a crime and the victim’s petition for severe punishment”.

A’s legal representative appealed for leniency, saying “A’s behavior was wrong, but it happened when they were dating and he had no intention of leaking the videos to the outside”. In his final statement, A said, “I’ve fully realized how pathetic and unacceptable my actions were”.

The court completed all the arguments after holding the third trial on July 5th and another trial on July 26th. The sentencing hearing for A on charges of violating the Special Sexual Violence Punishment Act (filming and distributing illegal videos using cameras, etc.) will be held by the Seoul Western District Court’s Criminal Division 4.

Meanwhile, A debuted as a member of a five-member boy group in 2017 and left the entertainment industry in 2019 after suspending his activities for health reasons. It was revealed that all the social media accounts of A have been closed after he was indicted on charges of illegal filming.
