Police To Summon BTS’s Suga After Revealing His Blood Alcohol Level Is Similar To Kim Sae-ron’s

BTS’s Suga (real name Min Yoon-gi), who recently caused a stir with his drunk driving issue, will be summoned by the police

According to the police on August 11th, Seoul Yongsan Police Station will summon Suga to the police station again to investigate things related to his drinking, such as how much alcohol he consumed.

Although the police let Suga return home after conducting a breathalyzer test because she was too drunk at that time, they plan to summon the male singer for additional investigation officially.

On August 7th, BTS’s Suga was booked by the Yongsan Police Station on drunk driving suspicion. According to the police, Suga fell off while riding an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol in the Yongsan area on the 6th.

In this regard, his agency HYBE stated, “Suga rode an electric scooter with a helmet on. He was on his way home while drunk. We apologize for disappointing many people”. Later, Suga went on an online fan community to admit his wrongdoing and apologize. He said, “After drinking alcohol at a dinner last night, I rode an electric scooter home”. However, criticism intensified as the police confirmed that Suga’s vehicle was an electric scooter with a seat, unlike HYBE’s report.

To make matters worse, Suga’s blood alcohol concentration, which exceeded the level of a license revocation, was revealed to be over 0.2%. It is similar to the blood alcohol concentration level of actress Kim Sae-ron, who caused a drunk driving accident in 2022.

Under the current Korean law, if one’s blood alcohol concentration level is over 0.2%, they can be sentenced to prison for more than two years and up to five years or ordered to pay a fine of 10~20 million won.

At the time he was caught drunk driving, Suga reportedly told the police that he “had only one cup of beer and rode the scooter for a short time”. The police have initiated administrative procedures to revoke Suga’s license.
