Japanese pop star A~chan (Nishiwaki Ayaka) from the renowned girl group Perfume has officially announced her marriage and her husband is none other than a longtime fan who became her close friend.
The announcement was made through A~chan’s Instagram on November 11, where she shared her joy and gratitude, describing the union as her “teenage dream come true.”
“We’ve been friends for a long time, we know so much about each other, we’re best friends, and he is a fan who wholeheartedly supports me and Perfume. Marrying a fan has always been my dream. Congratulations to my teenage self you did it!”
The singer also hinted at her hopes of becoming a mother, adding hashtags such as #mother, #mama, and #baby to her post. She concluded her message by requesting that fans and the media respect her husband’s privacy, emphasizing that he is a non-celebrity.
Achan’s marriage comes just months after Perfume announced their hiatus on September 21, following 25 years of continuous activity. The group consisting of Achan, Kashiyuka (Yuka Kashino), and Nocchi (Ayano Ōmoto) stated that the hiatus, beginning in 2026, is intended to serve as a “cold sleep,” allowing them to rest and return later as a “new Perfume.”
Perfume debuted in 2005 with “Linear Motor Girl” and achieved their breakthrough in 2007 with “Polyrhythm.” Over the years, they have released nine consecutive #1 albums, cementing their status as one of Japan’s most influential and innovative girl groups.
