Park Shin-hye is set to return with one of her most immersive transformations yet—portraying two drastically different identities in tvN’s new weekend drama Undercover Miss Hong.

The series follows a retro office comedy setup, set against the backdrop of the late 1990s. Park Shin-hye plays Hong Geum-bo, a brilliant elite financial regulator in her 30s who goes undercover as Hong Jang-mi, a clumsy 20-year-old rookie employee, after suspicious financial activity is detected inside a major securities firm.

Hong Geum-bo is introduced as a highly accomplished, top-tier inspector—nicknamed the “Witch of Yeouido”—and the first female director in her department. Confident, sharp, and fiercely competent, she embodies perfection. However, her undercover assignment forces her to drop everything she has achieved, including her age, education, and reputation, to relive life as a fresh high-school-graduate intern.

The production team released still cuts highlighting Park Shin-hye’s contrasting “two faces.” Her elite persona, Hong Geum-bo, is pictured with sleek long hair and a poised, confident expression. Meanwhile, her undercover version, Hong Jang-mi, appears warm, bright, and adorably naïve—complete with short bob hair and rookie-like energy.

The duality is striking, showing two completely different atmospheres not just through styling but also through posture, gaze, and emotional tone. This has led viewers to praise Park Shin-hye’s ability to “switch identities” and express two characters who share the same body but live entirely different lives.

With the concept of “undercover” at the center, anticipation is growing for how Park Shin-hye will navigate the chaotic mission, the comedic retro office setting, and the tension of balancing her real identity with her disguise.

Undercover Miss Hong is set to premiere on January 17, 2026 at 9:10 PM KST on tvN.
