Park Seo-joon X Han So-hee’s “Gyeongseong Creature” to be released worldwide on December 22nd

“Gyeongseong Creature” finally visits home theaters around the world

According to Star News on Oct 31st, Netflix’s original series “Gyeongseong Creature” (written by Kang Eun-kyung, directed by Jeong Dong-yun) is set to be released worldwide through Netflix on Dec 22nd. Considered one of Netflix’s most highly anticipated works in the second half of this year, “Gyeongseong Creature” is still considering options like splitting it into parts, similar to “The Glory” and “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area”.

Set in the spring of 1945, when Gyeongseong (the old name for Seoul) was in its darkest era, “Gyeongseong Creature” depicts the story of people who fight fiercely at the border between life and death. It is a collaboration between screenwriter Kang Eun-kyung, known for the “Dr. Romantic” series, and director Jeong Dong-yun, who directed “Hot Stove League”. It is produced by Story & Pictures Media, Kakao Entertainment and Studio Dragon.

What makes this series particularly noteworthy is the casting of top actors Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee as the male and female leads. Park Seo-joon plays Jang Tae-sang, a wealthy man and the best informant in Gyeongseong, while Han So-hee portrays Yoon Chae-ok, a specialist in finding missing people. The cast also includes trustworthy actors such as Soo Hyun, Kim Hae-sook, Jo Han-chul, Wi Ha-joon, Park Ji-hwan and more.

“Gyeongseong Creature” generated high expectations and secured the second season early this year, with filming recently completed. Although the first season’s shooting wrapped up in October last year, the production team spent considerable time on post-production, including computer graphics (CG), given the nature of the creature genre. Viewers can finally expect to meet “Gyeongseong Creature” through Netflix by the end of this year, and the series is expected to live up to the high expectations.
