On October 7th, a video featuring Park Seo-joon was posted on the YouTube channel of singer Sung Si-kyung.
In this video, Park Seo-joon talked about how he first started acting. He said, “I started when I was in the first year of high school. My parents were very against it. My father opposed it a lot. I have to talk a lot in my social life as an actor, that’s why I started talking more. When I was young, I was really timid and shy.”
When asked why he decided to become an actor, Park Seo-joon replied, “I hated that personality so much when I was in the third grade of middle school. I couldn’t say anything anywhere, so I felt so stupid myself.”
Sung Si-kyung said, “You must have been bullied or unpopular among your friends.” Park Seo-joon confessed, “When I was in elementary school, I was bullied a bit. I was a quiet person when I was in middle school as well.”
Sung Si-kyung also sympathized with Park Seo-joon, saying that he was bullied in elementary school. “There are a lot of controversies over bullying these days. I think it’s my first time saying this. It was hell for me from 1st grade to 4th grade. That’s why I don’t like hitting anyone or fighting. I’m glad that I have not hit anyone, since I remember exactly how terrible it was to be beaten. They were so innocent, and as much as they were innocent, they were so mean,” Sung Si-kyung said.
Park Seo-joon said, “In the end, it seems to be a matter of self-esteem and confidence. At that time, of course, I was a child who lost a lot of confidence because I felt like I was nothing, but I gained a little confidence when I started acting. I was able to talk a little bit and experience what I wanted to do for the first time in my life, so I really worked hard.”
