Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee Evoke Excitement for “Gyeongseong Creature”

The posters for Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee’s Netflix K-drama “Gyeongseong Creature” has been revealed

On December 14, the upcoming Netflix K-drama “Gyeongseong Creature” drew attention by releasing a poster, showing its characters full of great secrets and greed, who had a pleasant moment for a while in a difficult time.

The revealed character posters feature diverse individuals living in the tumultuous era of 1945 against the backdrop of various landmarks.

In particular, Jang Tae-sang (Park Seo-joon), Gyeongseong’s top underworld figure and owner of the Geumokdang, exudes a confident and ambitious demeanor fitting of the leader of Gyeongseong’s black market.

Meanwhile, Yoon Chae-ok (Han So-hee), a specialist in finding missing people, rumored to find even the dead, captivates people with a strong presence and a faint smile, raising curiosity about her connection to Gyeongseong.

Other characters, such as Geumokdang members Na Wol-maek (Kim Hae-sook) and Gu Gap-pyeong (Park Ji-hwan), and Chae-Ok’s father Yoon Jung-won (Jo Han-chul) also appeared.

On the other hand, in contrast to the warm tone of other posters, a poster set in a mysterious Hospital exudes a somber atmosphere. Characters Maeda Yukiko (Soo Hyun), Lieutenant General Gato (Choi Young-joon), and Ichiro (Hyeon Bong-sik) wear enigmatic smiles, intensifying curiosity about the massive secret held by the Hospital. Unlike the subtle smiles of the characters, the torn and red-stained parts of the poster foreshadow the intense struggle for survival that marked the spring of that year with greed.

Director Jung Dong-yoon, aiming to express moments of joy and warmth even in challenging times, depicted the hope blossoming in the harsh reality through the emotions and laughter of characters in the tumultuous era. He also emphasized the dual nature of glamor, revealing that behind the splendor, more frightening and terrible events are unfolding. This heightened expectations for the intense drama that confronts a massive secret.

Writer Kang Eun-kyung, who crafted the unique storyline, introduced the work as a story about young individuals who fought for survival. Park Seo-joon, perfectly transformed into Jang Tae-sang, expressed the character’s confidence through meticulously styled suits and neatly combed hair, creating a unique character that goes beyond appearance. Han So-hee, in perfect harmony with her character Yoon Chae-ok, stated, “I balanced myself so that I don’t lose the power to pursue a clear goal and not focus too much on that goal”, hinting at another compelling character.

The vivid and multifaceted characters will provide a high level of immersion in “Gyeongseong Creature” Part 1, set to be released exclusively on Netflix on December 22, 2023.

Part 2 will follow on January 5, 2024.
