park narae mentioned at 2025 mbc entertainment awards

The 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards took place on December 29 at the MBC Media Center Public Hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Broadcaster Jun Hyun-moo and comedian Jang Do-yeon served as hosts, welcoming entertainers who carried MBC’s variety programming throughout the year.

Jun Hyun-moo was announced as the first Grand Prize (Daesang) nominee of the night. The previous year’s winner, he has continued to appear on popular programs such as I Live Alone and Omniscient Interfering View.

Taking the stage from the MC desk, Jun Hyun-moo opened his remarks with a somber tone, saying it was the first time he had attended an awards ceremony with such a heavy and apologetic heart. He acknowledged the continued support viewers have shown I Live Alone, which has repeatedly been named one of Korea’s most beloved programs, but admitted that he—including himself—had failed to live up to those expectations. His comments were widely interpreted as an indirect reference to recent controversies involving Park Na-rae, Key, and even himself, including the so-called “IV drip” allegation.

Jun Hyun-moo then bowed deeply at a 90-degree angle, offering a formal apology. He went on to express his gratitude and remorse toward the production staff who have continued to work under difficult circumstances, promising that I Live Alone would undergo a “renewal project” in 2026 and show noticeable changes going forward.

Kian84, who won Entertainer of the Year and previously took home the Grand Prize in 2023, also drew attention for his cautious remarks. After pausing for a moment, he said he felt the need to be especially careful with his words this time, before thanking the writers and producers of I Live Alone for their hard work.

Actor Koo Sung-hwan, who won an Excellence Award, listed his fellow I Live Alone cast members one by one during his acceptance speech, including Jun Hyun-moo, but noticeably avoided mentioning Park Na-rae.

However, Park Na-rae’s name did come up later in the ceremony through another program she had been a regular on, Where Is My Home. Kim Sook, who won the Top Excellence Award for Female Entertainer, shared that she had even debated attending the ceremony the night before but was grateful she did, given the honor she received.

Celebrating her 30th anniversary in entertainment, Kim Sook first thanked the production team of Where Is My Home, whom she has worked with for seven years. She then went on to mention her fellow cast members—Jang Dong-min, Yang Se-hyung, Yang Se-chan, Joo Woo-jae, and Kim Dae-ho—before adding, “And Team Leader Na-rae,” becoming the only person that night to publicly name Park Na-rae.
