Park Myung-soo Recalls ‘Naengmyeon Incident’ 14 Years Ago, “I Apologize To IU Once Again”

KBS CoolFM’s “Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show” broadcast on July 19th featured guest Jeon Min-ki’s appearance to talk about various issues in the week.

That day, Park Myung-soo apologized for the “Naengmyeon incident” that happened 14 years ago. He has also expressed his regrets to IU on TV several times.

Park Myung-soo and IU met for the first time when IU replaced Jessica, who couldn’t participate in the rock festival of “Infinite Challenge” and sing “Naengmyeon” with Park Myung-soo.

Recalling that time, Park Myung-soo said, “Jessica, who used to be a member of Girls’ Generation, couldn’t join because she was busy with her personal schedules. Instead of Jessica, a girl with a guitar came. That was IU. She just debuted around that time”.

The broadcaster added, “I asked IU, ‘Who are you?’, and said, ‘Bring Jessica here’. IU still remembers that. She said she understood the situation and told me that it was okay”.

Park Myung-soo then apologized to IU, saying “I want to apologize to you once again. I’m very sorry, for any reason. IU ah, I’m sorry”.

Back then, even after Park Myung-soo asked who she was, IU still confidently introduced herself as ‘new singer IU’ rather than feeling embarrassed. IU later gained recognition for her singing talents and became a successful solo singer. Park Myung-soo has also been bragging about his close friendship with IU.
