In particular, speaking on the latest episode of “Knowing Bros”, the 53-year-old music producer shared that doctors first discovered the condition during his debut years.

“The ultrasound of my right brain artery was normal, but when they checked the left, the doctor’s face changed. He told the nurse, ‘Prepare for immediate hospitalization.’ I was shocked. It turns out I was born without the left brain artery—one of the main vessels supplying blood to the brain,” Park explained.

While the condition means part of his left brain receives insufficient oxygen and nutrients, which could cause neurological issues over time, it also comes with a unique twist. Doctors found that his right brain artery is twice the normal size, supplying blood to both hemispheres.

“The right brain is linked to creativity. Maybe that’s why I’ve been able to write music so well,” Park added with a smile.

Meanwhile, Park Jin Young, also known as J.Y. Park or JYP, debuted in 1994 as a solo artist before founding JYP Entertainment in 1997. Under his leadership, the company has produced global K-pop acts like Rain, Wonder Girls, 2PM, GOT7, TWICE, Stray Kids, ITZY, and NMIXX. Known for his boundless energy, hands-on approach to training, and quirky stage persona, Park remains a central figure in the Korean entertainment industry despite his condition.
