Park Ha-sun, Who Revealed Her Parents’ Divorce, Breaks Down in Tears Over Trauma from Marital Fights “It Was as Scary as a War”

On the August 22nd episode of JTBC’s variety show “Divorce Camp”, the stories of couples on the brink of divorce who entered a 55-hour camp to restore their relationships were revealed.

During the episode, Park Ha-sun burst into tears after watching a video of a couple engaging in verbal and physical abuse. What particularly troubled her was seeing the couple’s 5-year-old son, who seemed accustomed to witnessing such behavior.

Reflecting on her own experience, Park Ha-sun said, “We also have fights. But since having a child, we hold back. If one person doesn’t hold back, the fight never ends, so we hold back for the child’s sake, and things get better. But in that video, it seemed like they didn’t care about the child at all.

She continued, “I cried because it reminded me of my childhood. When my parents fought, my sibling and I would wake up because of the noise. We heard everything. It was terrifying. People say it feels like a war, and that’s how I felt. I still have trauma. Watching that video brought it all back.”

Park Ha-sun added, “I grew up in a divorced family, and my friends used to say, ‘My parents didn’t get divorced, but they fought so much that I envy you for having divorced parents.’ I didn’t understand it then, but after watching that video, I get it. If the fights were as intense as what I saw, I can understand why they felt that way.”
