Park Eun Bin is enjoying consecutive drama success with ‘Castaway Diva’ following ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’
tvN’s weekend drama ‘Castaway Diva,’ starring Park Eun Bin, which first aired on October 28th, started smoothly with an average nationwide viewership rating of 3.2% and a peak of 4% as reported by Nielsen Korea.
The drama depicts the journey of aspiring singer Seo Mok Ha (Park Eun Bin), who was rescued from a deserted island after 15 years.
Episode 2, which aired on October 29th, achieved an average nationwide viewership rating of 5.2% and a real-time peak of 5.8%, surpassing the 5% mark in its premiere week.
Especially, episode 4 of ‘Castaway Diva,’ which aired on November 5th, recorded an average nationwide viewership rating of 8% and a real-time peak of 9%, competing for the highest viewership rating.
‘Castaway Diva’ ratings also ranked first in both nationwide and metropolitan areas (average 8.9%, peak 10.2%) on cable and general programming channels during the same time slot.
This steady increase in viewership for ‘Castaway Diva’ resembles that of Park Eun Bin’s previous drama ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ aired on ENA.
‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo,’ which aired in June last year, started at 0.9% in the first episode but received much love, recording a peak viewership rating of 17.5% in the final episode 16. With this series, Park Eun Bin won the Daesang at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards.
Many associate Park Eun Bin with ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo,’ saying she portrayed the most iconic character of her career. However, Park Eun Bin has once again captivated viewers as Seo Mok Ha, stepping out of the character Woo Young Woo.
At the ‘Castaway Diva’ press conference, Park Eun Bin expressed her commitment to portraying Seo Mok Ha, who is good at singing. She said, “I felt responsible from the moment I decided to sing for the character. I put in efforts similar to a debut as a singer. Since it was my character’s dream to become a diva, I worked with the determination of someone on the brink of their debut.”
In reality, Park Eun Bin’s singing skills in the drama have astonished viewers, matching those of professional singers. Park Eun Bin needs to be versatile in dancing, dialect, and even playing guitar for the role of Seo Mok Ha.
