According to Star News, Park Eun-bin recently sat down for an interview about The Wonderfools, where she shared behind-the-scenes stories, her feelings after the drama’s release, and her thoughts on working with Cha Eun-woo.
In the series, Park Eun-bin plays Eun Chae-ni, a 27-year-old woman with the ability to teleport. Her character joins other special individuals to form a hero group protecting Haeseong City. The cast also includes Cha Eun-woo, Choi Tae-hoon, Im Sung-jae, and Kim Hae-sook.
Park Eun-bin said the drama’s release still feels fresh and emotional. Since this is her first OTT project released all at once, she admitted she is not fully used to saying goodbye to the character so quickly. “Every time a project is released, I always feel grateful and humble. I always wait with a nervous heart,” she shared.
When asked about The Wonderfools once facing possible release delays due to controversy involving Cha Eun-woo’s alleged tax evasion issue, Park Eun-bin responded carefully. She explained that for the past 3 to 4 months, she had been focused on filming a new project and did not have much time to think about matters outside work.
The actress added that she fully trusted the director and production team. After watching the full edited version, she thanked the director for giving her the chance to become a female superhero on screen. Park Eun-bin also revealed that she prepares a separate notebook for every role she plays. For Eun Chae-ni, she wrote down traits such as “unpredictable” and “impossible to know where she will go next.”
She described the character as eccentric and fun, especially because it had been a long time since she had the chance to play such a role. The actress said she wanted to keep Eun Chae-ni’s “total troublemaker” image alive. She even tried different styles to express the character’s personality, including the asymmetrical hairstyle that caught viewers’ attention in the drama. “Just by seeing Eun Chae-ni’s back or side profile, I wanted viewers to feel that she is someone who could cause trouble at any moment,” Park Eun-bin said.
At the end of the interview, Park Eun-bin shared that viewers will feel the charm of The Wonderfools if they grow attached to the residents of Mojiri neighborhood. According to her, the drama is not only a superhero story but also carries a nostalgic feeling from the late 1990s.
