On March 5, Park Bom uploaded a photo of a handwritten letter on her social media account with the caption, “To. A letter to the people… #ParkBom.” The image showed a personal message written by the singer addressing the public.

The same letter had previously been posted on March 3 under a similar caption, “To. The people of the nation #ParkBom,” but the post was suddenly deleted before being uploaded again later.

In the handwritten note, Park Bom introduced herself and said she wanted to share the truth directly with the public. She wrote that she had been doing well and was not sick, but explained that she wanted to carefully speak about a sensitive issue related to the medication Adderall, which has often been described as a psychotropic drug.

Park Bom explained that she did not want to discuss the matter again because she feared it could lead to further controversy if it appeared in the news. She also recalled how the situation had deeply affected her in the past.

In the letter, she clarified that the medication was not a drug in the sense of illegal narcotics and stated that she has ADD, also known as attention deficit disorder, for which the medication had been prescribed.

The message drew even more attention when Park Bom mentioned fellow 2NE1 member Sandara Park in the letter, claiming that she had been labeled as a drug user in order to cover up another issue. She also argued that at the time of the incident, there were no specific regulations regarding Adderall in the country, but that laws were later introduced after her case. Park Bom asked internet users to investigate the matter fairly and look into the facts.

She concluded the letter with a message directed toward YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk, Teddy, and fellow member CL (Lee Chae-rin), saying she hoped they would not report to authorities that she had used drugs excessively when she insisted she had not used drugs in nearly 30 years. She wrote that she felt as if her soul was crying and thanked readers for taking the time to read her message.

Following the controversy, Sandara Park responded on March 4 through her own social media, writing, “I have never used drugs. I wish her well,” and subsequently unfollowed Park Bom’s account.

The incident quickly sparked concern and debate among netizens after Park Bom deleted and then reposted the letter. Many online commenters expressed worry about the singer, with some saying they were genuinely concerned for her well-being, while others criticized the situation for involving a fellow group member.
