Park Bo-young Shares Feelings About ‘Daily Dose of Sunshine’, “I Cried After Watching The Drama”

Actress Park Bo-young got emotional after reading the script of “Daily Dose of Sunshine”

On November 10th, actress Park Bo-young had an interview at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul. During the interview, she talked about the preparation of Netflix’s original series “Daily Dose of Sunshine” and explained how she felt after the drama was released.

“Daily Dose of Sunshine” is a drama about the world that nurse Jung Da-eun meets as she begins working at the Department of Psychiatry and various stories of people with broken hearts. In the drama, Park Bo-young takes on the role of Jung Da-eun, a third-year nurse who has just been transferred from the Department of Internal Medicine to the Department of Psychiatry.

Regarding the reason she decided to appear in this series, Park Bo-young shared, “When it comes to mental illness, it would be a lie to say that there was no prejudice. With the hope that I could feel warmhearted after knowing the scenario, I finished reading the script and decided to join. I believe that anyone would sympathize with at least one episode after watching our drama from the beginning to the end. I hope many viewers will feel comforted by the stories. Also, I wish it would become the favorite drama of someone.”

She continued, “I cried a lot while I was binge-watching the drama. I cried when I read the script, but I cried more while watching it. There were other sections that are hard to watch too, but I couldn’t bear to watch the back part of Episode 6, so I took a break and watched it. As I could the story watch it on screen, I think I kept crying from the second episode as it (the emotion) gradually accumulated from the first episode.”

“Daily Dose of Sunshine” has reportedly been becoming popular through word of mouth. When asked if she felt the popularity, Park Bo-young said with a smile, “We posted on the nursing team’s KakaoTalk group chat and Myungshin University’s KakaoTalk group chat, congratulating each other and sharing the joy. I quickly sent messages first.”

She also shared, “The hospital doctors who consulted with us said the drama rather helped them understand the patients.”

“Usually those around me sent me short reviews of my dramas, saying ‘I saw it well,’ this time they sent me a lot in long texts. To be honest, there were many people who said they had a hard time, so I thought, “There were a lot of people like that around me,” she added.

In an earlier press conference, Park Bo-young said she learned a lot by visiting the hospital in person. Regarding this, Park Bo-young said, “The Catholic University of Korea Seoul ST.MARY’S Hospital helped me a lot when I visited the phychiatric department there. I went there whenever I had time, so it could be day, evening and night.”
