Despite not winning the grand prize, actor Park Bo-gum captured the spotlight at the 2025 KBS Entertainment Awards with his heartfelt dedication and surprise late-night arrival.
The ceremony, held on December 20 at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, celebrated the top entertainers and programs of the year. Hosted by Lee Chan-won, Lee Min-jung, and Moon Se-yoon, the event was packed with stars and an energetic audience.
Park Bo-gum, who was overseas on a tight schedule, made headlines when he returned to Korea and rushed directly to the awards venue to attend. Earlier in the evening, Moon Se-yoon had teased the audience by noting that 10CM — who succeeded Park as the MC of The Seasons — was sitting alone, and mentioned that Park Bo-gum was en route from abroad.
He finally arrived just past midnight, dazzling the crowd despite his hurried appearance. Lee Chan-won praised him warmly, saying, “Park Bo-gum shines simply by being here.”
Park had been nominated for the Grand Prize (Daesang) for his role in The Seasons – Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile, but the honor ultimately went to Jun Hyun-moo. However, Park was one of the recipients of the Entertainer of the Year Award, along with several other notable figures.
In his acceptance speech, Park reflected on his journey with KBS: “Thanks to ‘Music Bank,’ I received my rookie award 10 years ago. I’m deeply grateful to the viewers who have supported me, allowing me to stand here again.” He continued, “I’ve come to realize just how much effort our senior entertainers put into creating these music and variety shows.”
Even after winning, Park Bo-gum continued to be mentioned. During his Daesang acceptance speech, Jun Hyun-moo shared his own surprise, stating, “I thought Park Bo-gum would win. Even the camera director thought so — they were positioned in front of both of us.”
Jun then praised Park, saying, “Entertainment isn’t just about making people laugh. I want to become someone who, like Park Bo-gum, brings joy simply by being present.”
While the Grand Prize may have eluded him, Park Bo-gum’s professionalism, humility, and sincere dedication to his craft once again left a lasting impression — making him one of the night’s most talked-about stars.
