“Paint Attack vs Marketing?” Girl Group QWER’s Faces Covered in Red Paint, Agency “Investigating”

The group’s agency is currently investigating the situation.

According to OSEN on August 24th, a representative from Tamago Production stated, “We are currently confirming the details regarding the incident where red paint was splashed on the faces of the QWER members.

Earlier that day, online communities posted photos showing a group poster of QWER on the exterior windows of the 3Y Corporation office in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, covered with red paint.

In the photos, the faces of the QWER members were smeared with red paint across the entire large poster.

QWER is a four-member girl group produced by YouTuber Kim Gye-ran through Tamago Production, a subsidiary of 3Y Production.

The group consists of female creators Chodan, Magenta, Hina and Siyeon. They are a band-type girl group that has garnered attention with their unique concept and strong image.

However, the incident, which occurred just a day after the announcement of their comeback, shocked many. As the photos spread, netizens reacted with various opinions.

Some netizens speculated that the image could be a simple prank or a promotional stunt, while others expressed concern, claiming it was a paint attack by malicious anti-fans with ill will toward QWER.

Tamago Production is currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident and plans to release an official statement once the situation is clarified.

Despite the incident, QWER is proceeding with their planned comeback in September.
