“Pachinko” was honored with Breakthrough Series while Kim Min Ha failed to win an award at the Gotham Awards

Apple TV+ series “Pachinko” won an award at the U.S Gotham Awards.

The 23rd Gotham Awards was held in Manhattan, New York on November 28th (local time).

At the award ceremony, “Pachinko” was honored with ‘Breakthrough Series – Long Form (over 40 minutes)’, which is equivalent to “Best Drama” in Korean award ceremonies.

Actress Kim Min Ha was also nominated for ‘Outstanding Performance in a New Series’, but she couldn’t become the winner. Apart from Kim Min Ha, other names on the nomination list for this category are “Sort Of” Bilal Biag, “The Bear” Ayo Edebiri, “Abbott Elementary” Janelle James, “Station Eleven” Matilda Lawler, “Severance” Britt Lower, “Yellowjackets” Melanie Lynskey, “Dark Winds” Zahn McClarnon, “As We See It” Sue Ann Pien and “This Is Going to Hurt” Ben Whishaw. The trophy eventually went to Ben Whishaw.

The Gotham Awards is an award ceremony sponsored by the IFP (Independent Filmer Project), the largest organization for independent films in the U.S. It’s a prestigious annual event that marks the start of the Academy season.

Meanwhile, Kim Min Ha is carrying out active activities after receiving keen attention from global viewers through “Pachinko”.
