Ouyang Nana criticized for showing off luxury bags “She’s ambassador for brand L, so what’s wrong?”

Taiwanese actress-cellist Ouyang Nana is facing criticism for a bizarre reason – showcasing wealth

In September, Ouyang Nana (23) embarked on a study abroad journey in the United States. She temporarily suspended her university studies to focus on her entertainment career during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is currently studying cello at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

However, Nana stirred controversy even before returning to campus in earnest. Upon arriving in the United States, she shared several photos on social media, one of which showed her carrying at least 3 luxury bags from the well-known brand “L”.

The photo taken in the elevator captured her with a camera box worth SGD 4,300 (KRW 4.2 million) and a duffel bag worth SGD 3,700 (KRW 3.61 million). In another photo, she carried a travel bag worth at least SGD 5,000 (KRW 4.88 million). Netizens estimated the total value of her L-brand bag collection to be over SGD 12,700 (KRW 12.4 million).

Nana faced criticism for flaunting her luxury possessions. Netizens commented, “Aren’t you supposed to be going to university instead of posing for pictures?” However, Nana’s fans defended her, pointing out that she had been a brand ambassador for the French luxury house for about 3 years, and posting such photos was part of her job.

In fact, Nana’s older sister-actress Ouyang Nini (27) also faced criticism for a similar reason. Recently, she gained attention for sharing a video of her shopping for luxury items, including a bag known to cost at least SGD 8,000 (KRW 7.81 million).

Netizens criticized her, “She hasn’t achieved anything, but she’s buying expensive bags beyond her financial ability.” In response, Nini stated, “What does that have to do with you? Did I spend your money? Think about how I can make money to buy luxury goods.”
