JTBC’s latest weekend drama Our Golden Days has taken the Saturday night slot by storm, premiering on August 9 with a nationwide rating of 13.6% and 2.568 million viewers, according to Nielsen Korea. The impressive debut instantly made it the most-watched drama of the day.
The series follows the intertwined lives of three central characters — Lee Ji-hyeok, Ji Eun-oh, and Park Seong-jae — navigating love, friendship, and personal growth.
Lee Ji-hyeok, portrayed by Jung Il-woo, is a man who seemingly has it all — success in both work and love, paired with a glamorous image. But when life throws him into turmoil, he begins to understand the deeper value of living.
Ji Eun-oh, played by Jung In-sun, is an optimistic and warm-hearted interior designer who also runs a café. She once harbored unreciprocated feelings for Lee Ji-hyeok but has always stood by his side.
Park Seong-jae, brought to life by Yoon Hyun-min, is a wealthy chaebol heir and Lee Ji-hyeok’s close friend. Despite his privileged background, he grapples with loneliness and finds himself torn between friendship and love.
For Jung Il-woo, Our Golden Days marks another milestone in his 19-year career, during which he has remained one of Korea’s most beloved leading men. Known for roles in Flower Boy Ramen Shop, The Moon Embracing the Sun, Golden Rainbow, and Cinderella and Four Knights, he is still best remembered for his breakout in High Kick Through the Roof.
Jung In-sun, once a standout child actress in Jewel in the Palace, is expected to make a strong impression in what could become one of her most memorable adult performances. Meanwhile, Yoon Hyun-min is poised for greater recognition thanks to his nuanced portrayal in the series.
