“Our Blues” Jeju Pureung Village has everything from truck maker Lee Byung-hun to captain Kim Woo-bin

Still-cuts of “Our Blues” actors, who seem to have popped out of the Jeju village, have been released.

tvN’s new Saturday-Sunday drama “Our Blues“, which is scheduled to premiere on April 9th, is a collaboration between writer Noh Hee-kyung and director Kim Kyu-tae, who created well-made dramas such as “Live”, “It’s Okay, That’s Love” and “That Winter, The Wind Blows”. This series revolves around the sweet and bitter life of people standing at the end, climax or beginning of life, and depicts their stories in an omnibus format against the backdrop of Jeju Island.

Our Blues

In this regard, “Our Blues” production team released still-cuts of the actors who were filming in various places in Jeju. Lee Byung-hun (Lee Dong-seok), Shin Min-ah (Min Seon-ah), Cha Seung-won (Choi Han-soo), Lee Jung-eun (Jeong Eun-hee), Han Ji-min (Lee Young-ok), Kim Woo-bin (Park Jeong-joon), Kim Hye-ja (Kang Ok-dong), Go Doo-shim (Hyeon Chun-hee), Uhm Jung-hwa (Go Mi-ran), Park Ji-hwan (Jung In-kwon), Choi Young-jun (Bang Ho-sik), Bae Hyun-sung (Jung Hyun) and Roh Yoon-seo (Bang Young-joo) drew attention to what the Jeju village will be like in the drama.

Most of the characters in the drama are residents of Pureung Village in Jeju, and people who work in the five-day interval village market. Lee Byung-hun, who became a popular truck maker to grandmothers, as well as Lee Jung-eun, Han Ji-min and Kim Woo-bin, who do business at “Eun-hee’s Fish Store“, stand out. Kim Hye-ja and Go Doo-shim in the Halmang Market Site add realism as they look like real Jeju grandmothers. It is rumored that the actors learned the Jeju dialect and tried to incorporate it into the work. Park Ji-hwan and Choi Young-jun, fathers who work in the five-day interval village market, and high school couple Bae Hyun-sung – Roh Yoon-seo also live together.

The appearance of “haenyeos” (female divers), who came up with materials, also steals the attention. Jeju haenyeos, including baby haenyeo Han Ji-min and veteran haenyeo Go Doo-shim, and captain Kim Woo-bin, who is auctioning fish, herald a different point to watch. Viewers wonder what kind of stories they will tell against the backdrop of the blue sea that makes our eyes open wider. It is said that the actors not only filmed on a real boat but also filmed underwater, showing their enthusiasm.

On the other hand, the appearance of people returning to Jeju radiates an extraordinary presence. They are Shin Min-ah, who came to Jeju with a story, Cha Seung-won and Uhm Jung-hwa, who left their hometown and came back to Pureung Village. Shin Min-ah is fixing her old house, and bank branch manager Cha Seung-won is walking around the market. Uhm Jung-hwa is showing off her affinity between her alumni Park Ji-hwan, Choi Young-jun and Kim Kwang-kyu. People wonder what kind of stories they will create with the villagers.
